Are there herbs that can help with dry eyes and dry throat? I have Sjögren’s syndrome (+ lupus) which specifically affects the moisture producing glands in the body. My dry eyes and throat are chronic issues and I’ve never found any over the counter products that really work. Thanks for creating this space! I’m super appreciating it.

Hi Maria! Thanks for bringing this question to me. Herbs can be fantastic for symptoms like this — that is constitutional energetic states (dry, moist, cold, hot, etc.). I've added this to the queue and will dive in asap! Thanks also for the kind words about this space. It means a lot to hear how + that it's resonating well. xR

One more question: Would you discuss your favorite products for adrenal support?

Expand full comment

Oo yes, definitely. I'll go into more detail about adrenal health in a future session but for the sake of immediate gratification, some of my favorite products are these two (used together) from Gaia: https://rstyle.me/+DM_7YdKEUuF1zsF7xrKLjg and the nighttime equivalent which is called HPA Axis: Sleep Cycle. I only see the latter one in my Fullscript portal so can't link directly to it but if you have an account there (it's free), you'll see it in the search. Thanks for asking!

Hi Rachelle! I’m new here and loving watching all the recordings. I’ve been in business for about 5 months now and my whole business started through social media. However now that I’ve got more of a following, I’m finding that the comments are getting more and more hurtful and rude. How do you personally deal with this (both in terms of addressing it and self-care)? Thank you!

Ahh, this. Something I've also experienced, and am very purposeful about handling. It's a weird world out there — and also full of many kindest souls. I appreciate your bringing this up, Rebecca. I've added it to the queue and will dive in asap! Sending troll-free wishes your way in the meantime.

I’m curious if there are herbs that have B12 (or other B vitamins). My B12 is always very low, despite using a sublingual version. Any herbs that can bump it up?

Expand full comment

B12 can be a tricky one. I'll dive into this more in an upcoming session but meanwhile you might consider gut health and absorption issues, which often cause or contribute to suboptimal B12 levels. You're on the right track with sublingual. Fortified foods (e.g. nutritional yeast) can also be helpful.

Hi RR! I would love to know what your take is on gums. Such as xanthan gum, guar gum, etc. I understand that these are known to be inflammatory, however, under this list is also acacia gum (or gum arabic). I am confused because I know acacia to be a good pre-biotic, which I learned from you in your 4 week course.

To sum up my question, what gums are good, what gums should we avoid? And, where can we find good information on this?

xx, M

Hi Mia! Thanks for asking this. It reminds me a bit of the "natural flavors" conversation. I'll dig in and share details in an upcoming session. It's in the queue now, and otherwise hoping that 4-Week Course has served you well! I'm glad you're here.

I would love to know where you attended herbalism school?? What was your path to final training around becoming an herbalist? And would you recommend? 🙏🏼

Do you know much about herb support for lupus? Specifically the use of herbs in place of pharmaceuticals for lupus (and/or autoimmune in general, if not lupus specific).

Hi Maria, I've added this one to the queue. There are definitely herbal supports, and many details to share. Thanks for bringing the question up here!

Hi Rachelle! Is it ok if you talk more in-depth about intermittent fasting and how to support it with herbs? What’s the best way to break a fast? I see a lot of conflicting info about it and how some people say it’s unnecessary and can do more harm than good. Also, please let me know if you’ve already covered this topic. I’m still catching up!

Hi Paloma! I have talked some about IF (here: https://ursupernatural.substack.com/p/1117-recording-featuring-skincare and here: https://ursupernatural.substack.com/p/98-recording-herbs-and-hormone-plant and also on my site here: https://www.ursupernatural.com/search?q=fasting) BUT I've not been asked about how to support fasting with herbs and I love that idea. I've added it to the queue and we'll dive in soon! A related approach is herbal support for the metabolism, so you might enjoy doing some searches for that topic too.

I'm glad you're here!
