Hi Rachelle! I have a few questions regarding Peace Retreat. What time of year do you think is best in Costa Rica. We’re thinking about going in September. Do you have any recommendations for sightseeing off resort? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated 🩷✌️
Hi! Happy to share! One important thing to know about Peace Retreat is that it's quite remote, and there's no AC. So, if you go in the ideal-weather season (Dec - March) it's very hot. April-June are cooler, and there may be a bit of rain. (I'm writing from Costa Rica now and haven't seen rain yet, but it's here in the evenings.) September can be VERY rainy, though Peace Retreat is in the driest area of the country, so it's worth at least being prepared for what weather to expect. It will also make the no-AC situation more comfortable. For sightseeing off property, I admittedly haven't done any when staying there (though have explored Tamarindo). You can certainly surf, which I did. And I believe they have resources for horse-back riding, zip-lining, etc. Depending on how far you want to go, the options open up (e.g. Arenal volcano), but for day-trips, I would ask them for their list of current offerings!
